An exciting new world awaits job seekers, including graduates, who will be using AgriSETA’s first mobile app, Connect ME, to find career opportunities in the agricultural sector. With the new app, job seekers are matched with prospective employers with the click of a few buttons.
Job hunters simply have to upload their Curriculum Vitae. Prospective employers use the app to search for candidates who meet the relevant criteria from a large and growing database in the agriculture sector.
“We are hoping to change the lives of our people through the Connect MEapp,” says chief executive officer of AgriSETA, Dr Innocent Sirovha.
“It will certainly help to fast-track recruitment of young graduates, fill a gap for unemployed people in the agricultural sector, and especially for those who hope to be employed after obtaining newly acquired skills – no matter their age, because as a SETA, we serve to encourage lifelong learning.”
The Connect ME app was inspired by AgriSETA’s popular monthly stakeholder newsletter called Connect.
AgriSETA says the Connect ME app aids their objectives to contribute to the goals of the National Development Plan to create one million decent jobs by 2030. It also serves to demonstrate the success of the organisation’s work, by linking newly acquired skills and graduates with employers, starting with our three thousand beneficiaries of our 2020 learnerships.

Connect ME accommodates new ways of helping graduates and the entire agricultural labour force to find work by having “direct” access to (registered) industry employer. Similarly, it gives employers access to skilled and qualified job seekers in the agriculture sector.
In addition to the app acting as a so-called matchmaker, Connect ME stakeholders can expect a number of functionalities in the app. It allows learners in the agricultural sector to upload CVs. Potential employers can search for work seekers. Training providers can find out more about how they can register to become a training provider. Also, all stakeholders can complete surveys.
